Springfield Contemporary Theatre presents "God of Carnage," French playwright Yasmina Reza's razor-sharp comedy of bad manners, May 2nd through 12 in the auditorium at the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Drive next to Phelps Grove Park. Julie Bloodworth directs this local production of a play that is one of the longest-running Broadway plays of the new millennium and a 2009 Tony winner for Best Play. One afternoon two couples, in an upscale Brooklyn neighborhood meet to discuss a playground altercation between their children. The four of them agree to discuss the incident civilly, but, as the afternoon wears on and drinks are imbibed, the polite veneer breaks down. The cast includes Rick Dines, Michael Frizell, and Equity actors Maggie Marlin and Sarah J. Wiggin. Performances are Thursday through Saturday May 2-4 and Thursday and Friday May 9 & 10 all at 7:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday May 11 and 12 both at 2:00pm.
