Missouri State University Tent Theatre will present three productions for their 51st summer season. First, lonely hearts are as parched as the Texas dustbowl — but a Rainmaker is coming to town! — in the musical "110 in the Shade," running June 12-22. Next, six Southern belles share happiness and heartbreak at a small-town beauty salon in the comedy-drama "Steel Magnolias" June 27-July 6. Finally, a diehard baseball fan makes a deal with the devil to win the pennant for his beloved home team in the musical comedy "Damn Yankees" July 11-21. All performances start at 8:00pm in the big white tent behind Craig Hall on the MSU campus. Tickets will be available starting Monday May 20, and shows often sell out quickly. For information visit http://tenttheatre.missouristate.edu; for tickets call 836-7678 or 1(888)476-7849, or visit www.missouristatetix.com. And you can reserve a light but satisfying picnic dinner on the Craig Hall south patio between 7:00 and 7:45 p.m. Menus are especially themed for each show. All picnics cost $10 (in addition to your show tickets), with proceeds supporting the Tent Theatre scholarship fund. Orders for picnic dinners must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance of show dates.
