First Friday Art Walk visitors will reap a bounty of original artwork, live music, live art, special events and more at the Oct. 5 Art Walk, from 6:00 to 10:00pm in 29 participating venues. Art Walk’s newest member, Springfield Brewing Company, brings a variety of artists to its new display space in October. And there are several annual events coming up in the October Art Walk. The Art Walk 11th Anniversary Art Contest Exhibit, with loal art hosted at OTC Fine Art Gallery at The Gillioz along with live music by Rick Haegg. Vote for your favorite artist to determine the winner of The People’s Choice Award! Also, the fifth annual "Women Artists of the Midwest" exhibit at Hawthorn Galleries, featuring new artwork by Alishia Brundege, Tricia Courtney, Juanita Herrell, Jennifer Linders, Lyn Phariss and Louise Thies, along with 2012 inductees Emily Frost and Theresa Rankin. Springfield Hot Glass Studio presents their ninth annual "Pumpkin Party," featuring handcrafted glass pumpkins created before your eyes, with four lucky Art Walkers winning pumpkins raffled off hourly during this special event. Art Walk is proud to welcome the third annual Springfield Jazz Festival to Park Central Square and Park Central East during the Oct. 5 Walk.
