The Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI) in West Plains, along with the University of Missouri Extension and Missouri Small Business & Technology Development Centers, will host a Financial Management for Small Business seminar series for non-accountants and non-financial managers April 16, 23, and 30.
April 16's seminar will focus on "Understanding Financial Statements, What in the World are my Numbers Telling Me?"
The first in a series of three courses, "Understanding Financial Statements" is designed for business owners and managers who need to know how to turn financial statements into useful management tools. During this course, you will learn how to identify key business information that is captured on the income statement and balance sheet. You will learn to calculate several ratios and understand what those ratios mean in terms of business productivity and success.
April 23's seminar will focus on "How to Control Cash Flow."
The second session is specifically designed to help the small business owner get a handle on the financial side of the operation. In this three-hour session, you'll learn to turn financial statements into useful management tools. Take a closer look at where cash comes from in a small business, learn where it's used in day-to-day operations and how to identify and correct cash flow problems.
April 30's seminar will focus on "Predicting Future Cash Needs."
In the last session, you'll learn how to use a cash budget to prepare future performance of a business. You will learn to estimate future sources and uses of cash. You'll also learn to analyze those predictions to make more informed decisions.
