Springfield Little Theatre Presents "Sideways Stories from Wayside School" at the Art Museum Auditorium

Event Dates:
Repeats every day until Mon Nov 11 2013 .
November 9, 2013 - 2:30pm - 3:30pm

Springfield Little Theatre presents "Sideways Stories From Wayside School" Friday through Sunday Nov.8-10 in the Springfield Art Museum Auditorium.  Based on the book by Louis Sachar and adapted by Jessica Palmer and Andy Willadsen, the play tells the story of a terrible mistake – Wayside School was built with one classroom on top of another, thirty stories high!  Of course the builder said he was sorry, if that helps.... By maybe that’s why all kinds of funny things happen at Wayside – especially on the thirteenth floor.  Tickets for this all-ages show are $5; showtimes are 7:30pm Friday the 8th, and Saturday & Sunday Nov.9 and 10 both at 2:30pm.   For tickets call the Little Theatre box office, 869-1334 or visit www.springfieldlittletheatre.org.

Springfield Little Theatre will present a special event for their next mainstage show at the Landers Theatre, 311 E. Walnut: the comedy "Exit Laughing" by Paul Elliott, one of six winners of The American Association of Community Theatres national new works festival. It tells the story of four women whose weekly card night out with the girls is the highlight of their lives.  When one of the foursome inconveniently dies, the other three Southern ladies commit the most daring act imaginable... they “borrow” their friend's ashes from the funeral home for one last card game and the wildest, most exciting night of their lives which begins with a police raid, a stripper, laughs and a whole new way of looking at all the fun you can have when you’re truly living.   Chuck Rogers directs LT's production, which opens at the Landers Theatre Friday Nov.15 at 7:30pm.  Performances will then run Thursdays through Saturdasy at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:30pm through Nov.24.  For tickets call the Little Theatre box office, 869-1334 or visit www.springfieldlittletheatre.org.
