This spring Springfield Regional Opera's Education Tour will present a production of "The Three Little Pigs" by John Davies, an operatic version of the classic story based on scenes from operas by Mozart. They're offering special FREE previews of the show at two Springfield-Greene County Library branches: a performance Saturday Feb.1st at 1:30pm in the auditorium at the Library Center on South Campbell, and the following Saturday Feb. 8 at 1:30pm at the Park Central Branch. It's a family show perfect for children of all ages. It's especially suited to pre-kindergarten through 5th grade kids. While brother pigs Don Giovanni and Cherubino set off to make homes of sticks and straw, their sister, Despina, goes to the library to read up on "huff-proof, puff-proof" home construction. After Wolfgang Bigbad blows down the boys’ flimsy homes, they run to their sister’s sturdy new brick house--and readily admit that going to the library and reading books is a pretty smart thing to do after all.
