As Dr. Anson Elliott can tell you, Missouri State University has a long-standing role in the agricultural world of southwest Missouri. The William H. Darr School of Agriculture, of which Anson is the Director, has extensive programs for students in such diverse areas as animal science, agribusiness and environmental plant studies.
The school aims to bring the academic world into close connection with the methods and goals of the agricultural workforce, from beef producers to seed companies to crop growers. The school has extensive facilities and programs which enable them to expose students to a wide array of techniques, but also has a student-centered attitude which speaks to the mission of the university as a whole.
