Watershed Committee of the Ozarks

This week on STEM Spots Dr. David Cornelison speaks with Stacey Armstrong, Project Manager for the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks.

Stacey is a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Geography. She is currently working on completing degree requirements for a Master’s of Science in Geospatial Sciences from MSU. Stacey’s background includes environmental work related to GIS, geomorphology, water quality, cartography and planning.

Listen in as they discuss the Watershed Committee’s general purpose, structure, and funding model. They’ll also cover storm water, its distribution and how the public can become educated on its uses.

Dr. David Cornelison has been working as an educator and scientist in Arizona and Missouri universities for the last 32 years. From 2010-2018, he was the head of the Department of Physics, Astronomy and Materials Science at Missouri State University. His research interests lie at the intersection of experimental condensed-matter physics and astrophysics, while his educational efforts have focused on outreach to the K-12 school system. Most of all, he believes in curiosity-driven learning in the sciences and all other fields.
