Greene County to Honor Commissioner Roseann Bentley

Roseann Bentley
Scott Harvey

Greene County will host a retirement reception for Commissioner Roseann Bentley Friday.  Bentley, who has served as the Greene County Commissioner for the Eastern District since 2004, will be replaced by Lincoln Hough who won the seat last month, defeating Libertarian Cecil Ince.

Bentley served eight years in the Missouri Senate representing the Springfield area and was the first woman elected to that seat.  As senator, she was on the Senate Appropriations Committee, chairman of the Senate Education Committee, chairman of the state’s Children’s Services Commission and was a member of the Missouri Tourism Commission.

Bentley was a founding member of Ozarks Public Television and the first president of the Junior League of Springfield.

The reception is planned for Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 in the Greene County Courthouse Rotunda.
