Greene County Presiding Commissioner may soon regret issuing a recent challenge, but he’s still glad he did it. Bob Cirtin says he’ll have someone—possibly Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott—shave his head if the county’s employee participation in the annual United Way campaign doubles from last year. Eighteen percent of employees gave last year, so that would have to increase to 36 percent.
Cirtin says he made the challenge because, when he took office at the beginning of the year, one of his main goals was “to spark a new kind of employee involvement in the county.”
The total percentage of county employee participation will be finalized and announced on October 13th. If the goal is reached, the public is invited to witness the head-shaving event at noon on October 14th in the rotunda of the Greene County Historic Courthouse.
