Employers from a variety of industries will participate in a job fair next month to help the more than 200 Mammoth, Inc. employees who will soon lose their jobs.

The plant, which makes heat, cooling and ventilation systems, announced last week it was moving its operation in east Springfield to other plants throughout the U.S.

Employers looking to fill open positions were quick to contact Springfield’s Department of Workforce Development, according to the city. And on June 9, a manufacturing hiring event is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Missouri Career Center, 2900 E. Sunshine.

Participating employers will offer information about open jobs and applications details, as well as schedule future interviews.

Job seekers can find more information about open positions within manufacturing industries and other opportunities across industry sectors by registering through jobs.mo.gov.

The Mammoth plant will close toward the end of the year, with layoffs beginning as early as July.
