Proposals to Address Concerns about Short-Term Lending Practices

This week on Making Democracy Work, host Chrystal Brigman Mahaney speaks with Representative Steve Helms of the 135th House District in Springfield.

Rep. Helms serves as Chair of the Subcommittee for Short-term Financial Transactions, and will be speaking about proposed measures to reduce the often predatory nature of short term lending.

A Town Hall style meeting about this topic will be Wednesday, March 21st at 6:00pm at Schweitzer Brentwood Library.

Theresa received her undergraduate degree in sociology at Missouri State University, as well as her Master's degree in Social Work at MSU. Theresa enjoys writing, drawing, reading, music, working with animals, and most of all spending time with her family. She wishes to continue to use her experiences, combined with her pursuit of education, to foster a sense of empowerment and social awareness in the community. Theresa loves working with KSMU and attributes her passion for NPR, and love of learning, to her father.
