The City of Branson has developed preliminary plans for phase two of the downtown Branson Streetscape improvement project. The Liberty Plaza Project includes the areas referred to as the Old City Hall parking lot, which is bounded on the west by Veterans Blvd., on the north by Pacific St. and on the south by College St. It’s behind the historic Owen Theater.
According to the city, Liberty Plaza is being described as the focal point for the downtown Branson improvements. It will include a new parking lot and possibly an outdoor amphitheater, extensive landscaping, walkways, seating opportunities, a new restroom and trolley stop. It might also include public art or a water feature.
A meeting to get public input on the plans is set for Monday night (5/4) from 5:30 to 7 in the City Hall courtroom. City staff will present the conceptual drawings and seek input and suggestions from the public.
The master plan for the multimillion dollar downtown Branson improvement project includes new and improved infrastructure, sidewalks, crosswalk, landscaping and signage.
