The Home of the Brave Motorcycle Rally, to benefit The Kitchen Inc.’s Home at Last program, will be held today through Sunday (8/28-8/30) at the American Legion Post 639, 2660 S. Scenic.  Proceeds will help at-risk and homeless veterans.  For details, click here.

The Missouri State University Biology Seminar Series kicks off today (8/28) with “The Emerging Phylogenetic pattern of Parthenogenesis in Snakes,” by Dr. Warren Booth, an evolutionary geneticist from the University of Tulsa.  It’s at 4 in Temple Hall, room 3, and is free and open to the public.

Start Your Engines

The exhibit, “Start Your Engines—the History of Motor Racing in the Ozarks” is at the Springfield-Greene County History Museum in the Fox Theatre on Park Central Square through tomorrow (8/29).  Hours are 10:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Guardians of the Galaxy

This is the last weekend of the Movies at Founders Park series this season.  See “The Incredibles” tonight (8/28) and “Raiders of the Lost Ark” tomorrow night (8/29) at Founders Park in downtown Springfield.  Free tickets are available in advance at Chesterfield, Doling and Dan Kinney Family Centers, at the Busch Municipal Building, at Mediacom Ice Park and at Mediacom offices.

The Ozarks Mini Maker Faire & Innovation Expo will be held tomorrow (8/29) from 10 am to 6 pm at the Springfield Expo Center.  It’s described as “an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists and more.  They’ll showcase what they’ve made and share what they’ve learned.
