City of Springfield

Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield presents the 12th annual Memorial Luminary Driving Tour and Ceremony tomorrow (12/12) from 4:30 to 9:30 with the opening ceremony at 4:30 at the Visitor Center.   KSMU's Michele Skalicky talks with the park's superintendent Ted Hillmer about the event.

More than 2500 luminaries will represent those killed, wounded or missing at the Battle of Wilson’s Creek.  Admission is free.  The tour road will close at noon tomorrow in preparation for the event.  To find out more, click here.

Victorian Springfield, Holiday Tidings on the Square, at the historic Fox Theatre, continues through January 16th.  Hours are 10:30 to 4:30 Monday through Saturday.  To learn more, click here.

The Yellow House will hold its Holiday Arts and Crafts Sale today (12/11) from 4 to 8 and tomorrow (12/12) from 10 to 4 with free admission and refreshments.  Lunch will be available for purchase tomorrow.

Christmas Lights at Finley River Park

Christmas Lights of Ozark at Finley River Park continue nightly through January 3rd.  Find more information here.

The annual Christmas Festival in Eureka Springs, Arkansas continues through December 19th.  Events include a Home for the Holidays concert, luminaries, Christmas caroling and more.  For a schedule of events, click here.

The Branson Gift of Lights, a drive-through light display, is open from dusk to 11 pm each night through January 2nd at Shepherd of the Hills Expressway and Expressway Lane.  The cost is $20 per car.   For details, bransonlights.com

Adults are invited to “Farewell to ‘Downton Abbey’” tomorrow afternoon (12/12) at 1 at the Library Center.  Say farewell to the PBS series with a preview screening of the first half hour of the final season, sponsored by OPT.  You’ll be able to enter your name in a drawing to win a Downton Abbey gift basket.  Another screening will be held December 15 at 7 at the Library Station.

The Springfield Christmas Parade starts at 2 tomorrow (12/12) in downtown.  It will begin at South and Elm, go north through the square and end at Jordan Valley Park.  For details, click here.

The Springfield Symphony Orchestra will present the free Home for the Holidays concert tomorrow afternoon (12/12) at 2:30 at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.  Food donations will be taken for Ozarks Food Harvest.  And the Nutcracker Sweeties Pops Concert will be held tomorrow night (12/12) at 7:30 with a pre-concert at 7. The Springfield Regional Arts Council will host a free art day tomorrow morning (12/12) from 10 to noon at the Creamery Arts Center.  Kids can make holiday-themed scratch art, personalized ornaments and wrapping paper and can decorate cookies.  To learn more, click here.

Kids of all ages are invited to stop by the Springfield Conservation Nature Center tomorrow (12/12) from 10 to 3 to make holiday crafts from natural and recycled materials.  No registration is needed.

The Clever Bands program will host its fifth annual Holiday Craft Bazaar at Clever High School, 6800 State Highway 14, tomorrow (12/12) from 9 to 3.

Joplin City Hall’s Holiday Windows display continues through January 11th with themed-trees in the windows.

The Mosaic Vocal Ensemble presents “Christmas Around the World” tomorrow night (12/12) at 6 at First Presbyterian Church, 220 Arbor Drive, in Harrison, Arkansas. 

Adults and teens in grade eight and up are invited to the free program “Upcycle Books into Christmas Trees” tomorrow afternoon (12/12) at 1 at the Park Central Library.  Materials will be provided.

Breakfast with Santa will be held tomorrow morning (12/12) at the West Plains Civic Center.  Tickets are $5 per adult and include one free child pass.  Additional children 12 and under get in for $3.

The West Plains Christmas Parade is planned for tomorrow (12/12).  It will start at the corner of Porter Wagoner and Missouri Avenue, and go to Main Ave. where it will end at Main and Preacher Roe. 

Skate for free tomorrow night (12/12) from 6 to 7 at Mediacom Ice Park.  Skate rental is $2.50.

Free horse-drawn carriage rides will be offered tomorrow night (12/12) from 6 to 9 in downtown Springfield.
