You’ll be able to listen for owls tonight (1/23) at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  It’s hosting an Owl Prowl and Evening Stroll from 6 to 9.  Take flashlights.  Dickerson Park Zoo will offer programs on owls inside the Nature Center at 6:30 and 7:30.  No registration is needed.  To learn more, 888-4237.

The series, Gardens of America, starts tonight (1/23) and continues each Friday night at 6 through March 6th at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center.  Tonight’s program will focus on gardens in New York City.  Admission is free.

The Midtown Carnegie Branch Library will offer the program, “Baby, it’s Cold Outside,” for anyone six and younger this morning (1/23) at 10 featuring stories, crafts and treats.  For more information, 862-0135.

MSU West Plains and the Imaginary Theatre Company of St. Louis present “The Emperor’s New Clothes” tonight (1/23) at 7 at the West Plains Civic Center.  Tickets are $8 and free for kids 13 and younger.  For more information, 255-7966.

Tonight (1/23) from 6 to 8 is Teen Friday Night at the Library Station for kids in grades six-12.   Stop in for games, crafts and special events. 

The Springfield Conservation Nature Center’s Hiking Club, for anyone 18 and older, will hike at the Talbot Conservation Area tomorrow (1/24).  To register, 888-4237.

Kids three to six-years-old are invited to the Little Acorns program, “Terrific Trout,” tomorrow morning (1/24) at 11 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  To register, 888-4237.

Members of the Missouri Trout Fishermen’s Association will demonstrate fly tying at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center tomorrow afternoon (1/24) from 1 to 4.

Anyone eight and older can learn how to create nature art with a Chinese brush stroke tomorrow afternoon (1/24) at 1 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  The same program for anyone 15 and older will be held at 2:45.  To register, 888-4237.

The Springfield Art Museum’s next Family Day, focusing on the exhibit, Four by Four, is tomorrow morning (1/24) from 10 to noon. Kids can take part in hands-on activities and art projects and can view the museum’s exhibits.

The Conservatory of the Ozarks will host its January Studio Recital tomorrow afternoon (1/24) at 2 at the Park Central Branch Library.

The Southwest Missouri Office on Aging will offer assistance for anyone over 65 who qualify for the Missouri Property Tax Credit tomorrow (1/24) from 9 am to 1 pm at the South Side Senior Center, 2215 S. Fremont and at the Northview Center at Doling Park.  For more information, 862-0762.

The program, Digging for Dinosaurs, starts tomorrow morning (1/24) at 10 at the Library Center.  Matt Forir, paleontologist and executive director of the Missouri Institute of Natural Science, will discuss recent excavations in Wyoming's Cretaceous Badlands where the institute's crew excavated Henry the Triceratops. Fossils from the excavation will be available for viewing after the lecture.  For more information, 882-0714.

The Library Center will host a Digital Device Post-Holiday Open House tomorrow afternoon (1/24) from 1 to 4.  Library staff will provide one-on-one instruction during this come-and-go event for using digital library products including downloading e-books and e-audiobooks during this come-and-go open house. Bring your device or smartphone fully charged and registered along with your account passwords.
