Weekend Outlook July 8-10, 2016

CARE

A motorcycle ride this weekend will benefit a local animal shelter.  Hogs for Dogs was started 13 years ago by Denney's Harley Davidson and has always benefited animals.

"It's to raise the awareness of, you know, these pets are--we want them all to be adopted and we want to be able to help fund for their care," said Leslie DeVore, with Denney's.

She said this year's ride will benefit C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter.

According to DeVore, 150-200 motorcycles are typically involved in the charity ride, which this year will travel through the Stockton area.

The 75-mile ride will start in Springfield Sunday (7/10) at 3980 W. Sunshine and will return to the same location where there will be food, live music and a silent auction featuring lots of items.

"Oh my goodness. We have like 200.  They range from motorcycle stuff, gift certificates to local restaurants and attractions, you know, different pet items," DeVore said.

Registration starts Sunday morning at 9.  DeVore said they raise around $25,000 each year for homeless animals.  Learn more here.
