The SGF Chalk Arts Festival is Friday (6/1) from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the IdeaXFactory, 351 N. Boonville in downtown Springfield.  Watch artists create masterpieces in chalk, try your hand at chalk drawing and enjoy live music.  Proceeds will benefit Foster Adopt Connect. 

The Springfield-Greene County Library program, Fantastic Friday at the Railroad Historical Museum, will be held Friday morning (6/1) at 10 at the museum at Grant Beach Park in Springfield for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. 

Yoga on the Square returns to Park Central Square Friday (6/1) at 12:10.  Take a yoga mat.  The event will be held each Friday through August 31.  

The Old Time Music Ozark Heritage Festival is Friday and Saturday (6/1-6/2) in West Plains.  The event features live music, demonstrations and artisans. 

Artist Will Knauer will talk about his travels in Japan and the paintings inspired by his travels during First Friday Art Work Friday night (6/1) at the Park Central Library.  An exhibit featuring Knauer’s photographs opens tonight at the library.  Learn more here.

The First Friday Art Walk will be held Friday night (6/1) from 6 to 10 in downtown Springfield. 

The Special Olympics Missouri State Summer Games are being held at Missouri State University Friday through Sunday (6/1-6/3). 

The Southwest Missouri Tandem Rally will be held Friday through Sunday (6/1-6/3) at the Double Tree by Hilton, 2431 N. Glenstone.  

The Eureka Springs Mustang Show continues through Sunday (6/3) in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. 

The annual City-Wide Garage Sale will be held Friday and Saturday (6/1-6/2) in Harrison, Arkansas. 

Family Movie Night at the Library starts Friday night (6/2) at 6:30 at the Library Center featuring the movie, Sing.  Learn more here.

The Run for Fun Club meets Saturdays through July 28 at the Westport-School Park track.  Children will take part in kid-friendly creative exercise activities.  Water and snacks will be provided.  Registration is due by Friday (6/1). 

Festival on the Edge, presented by the Child Advocacy Center, will be held Saturday (6/2) from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jefferson between Olive and Park Central East in Springfield.  Events include a pancake breakfast, a beer garden, a pie eating contest, face painting and balloon art, a KidZone and a chance to watch people rappel down Sky Eleven as part of a fundraiser for CAC. 

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Trail Systems Act Saturday (6/2) with a trivia hike at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  Learn about our National Historic and Scenic trails, how to take care of your local trails and test your knowledge about trails and the Trails Act.  For more information, (417) 888-4237. 

The 37th annual Kids Fishing Fun Day is Saturday (6/2) at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park.  Kids may catch and keep up to three fish.  They’ll learn how to bait a hook and how to clean a fish.  Registration is required. 

Dirt Day at Lafayette Park, 202 E. Atlantic in Springfield, is Saturday (6/2) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The Woodland Heights Neighborhood hosts this garden-themed event with activities and demonstrations from garden professionals and clubs, a plant exchange, green living informatoin, interactive garden art, a kids’ dinosaur dig and birdhouse painting. 

The 2018 Midwestern Chapter of the ISA will host theISA Tree Climbing ChampionshipSaturday and Sunday (6/2-6/3) at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic in Springfield.  The public is invited to watch.

The 2018 Springfield Rock and Gem Fair will be held Saturday (6/2) from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday (6/3) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Missouri Institute of Natural Science, 2327 W. Farm Rd. 190 in Springfield. 

The 14th annual Rock the House Music Festival is Saturday (6/2) at Flavie Lear Field, 22601 Main St. in Reeds Spring.  The festival will feature several bands,  including Big Smith and the Patrick Mureithi Band.  

Anyone 18 and older is invited to go on a guided three-mile hike Saturday (6/2) at Busiek State Forest and Wildlife Area.  To register, (417) 888-4237. 

Convoy of Hope will hold an outreach event Saturday (6/2) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.  Struggling families and individuals will be able to get free haircuts, groceries, health and dental screenings, family portraits, meals and more. 

A Veterans Writing Workshop will be held Saturday morning (6/2) at 9 at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library.  It’s presented by the Missouri Humanities Council. 

The Willard City Wide Garage Sale will be held Saturday (6/2) in Willard, MO.  

The Route 66 Mother Road Bicycle Tour will be held Saturday (6/2) starting in Carthage.  Choose from a 15 mile out and back ride or 30, 45, 66+ or 100 mile loops. 

The final Arts in the Parks concert at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefieldwill be the Ray House Jamboree Saturday (6/2) from 3 to 8 p.m.  Various local groups will perform traditional Ozarks music.  Regular Tour Road admission will apply.  

The 24th annual Junebug Jamboree is set for Saturday and Sunday (6/2-6/3) at the American Legion, 2660 S. Scenic in Springfield. 

Grandma’s House Ride is Saturday (6/2) starting at 10 a.m. in the Walmart parking lot in Harrison, Arkansas.  The motorcycle ride will end in Berryville, Arkansas.  Proceeds will benefit kids who are taken from abusive homes or homes where drugs are being made. 

The Summer Junior Ranger Program will be held Saturday (6/2) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for kids eight to 12-years-old at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond, MO.  The annual event gives children a “behind the scenes” look at what it’s like to be a park ranger and a chance to learn more about George Washington Carver and the NPS through a variety of hands-on and small group activities. 

The Summer Lip Sync Showdown, to benefit the Ozark Rape Crisis Center, will be held Saturday night (6/2) at 7 at the Lyric Theater in Harrison, Arkansas.

The CoxHealth Medical Mile and 5K Run/Walk is Saturday (6/2) at 3545 S. National in Springfield.  Proceeds benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. 

Lunafest is Saturday (6/2) from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Drive in Springfield.  The film festival features films by, for and about women.  Proceeds benefit the Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC). 

The Lebanon Farmer’s Market will be open Saturday (6/2) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Lebanon, off Jefferson by the railroad tracks.  

The C-Street City Market will be open Saturday (6/2) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. near the Footbridge on Commercial Street. 

The Greater Ozarks Farmers’ Market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday (6/2) in the southeast corner of the Battlefield Mall Parking Lot. 

Farmers’ Market of the Ozarks will be open Saturday (6/2) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2144 E. Republic Rd. in Springfield.

The Primitive Skills Series program, Fire and Flintstone, will be held Sunday (6/3) from 1 to 3 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  No registration is required.  Learn how to start fires without matches and butane.  To learn more, (417) 888-4237. 

The program, Summer Hummers, will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday (6/3) at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  Sarah Driver will share her knowledge of hummingbirds and will try to capture and band some.  To register, (417) 888-4237.

The Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library will host “Sunday Make ‘n Play” Sunday (6/3) from 2 to 4 for families with kids in fourth grade and younger. Drop in for a hands-on, interactive experience with a maker, play and art focus. The event will include multiple activity stations and read-alouds. 

The Sounds of Summer Concert Series continues Sunday afternoon (6/3) at 2 at the Peace Through People Pavilion at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic in Springfield, featuring Auntie Em and the Tornadoes.  Take blankets and lawn chairs.  Admission is free.

The Essential Coen Brothers Series continues this weekend at the Moxie Cinema, 305 S. Campbell in downtown Springfield.  See the 2007 film, No Country for Old Men, Sunday afternoon (6/3) at 3:15.
