The Springfield Conservation Nature Center will present the program “Archery Basics: Beginner Archery for Families” this morning (3/16) at 10 at the Andy Dalton Shooting Range and Outdoor Education Center, 4897 N. Farm Rd. 61 in Ash Grove.  To register, (417) 888-4237. 

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will hold a blood drive today (3/16) in honor of retired Springfield police officer, Aaron Pearson. Pearson was shot while on duty in January 2015, and he required 20 units of blood during surgeries to save his life.  The drive will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Thomson Donor Center, 220 W. Plainview Rd. in Springfield and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Busch Municipal
Building.

Hands-on S.T.E.A.M. learning activities, free with paid admission, continue today (3/16) at the Discovery Center of Springfield, 438 E. St. Louis.

The Springfield St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held tomorrow (3/17).  Vendors will open at noon at the Jefferson Avenue Footbridge on Historic C-Street.  An Irish Pet Contest will start at 12:30, and the parade begins at Benton and Commercial at 2.

The Pat Jones YMCA, 1901 E. Republic Rd. in Springfield, will host an open house tomorrow (3/17) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  There will be local vendors, door prizes, tours of the Y, activities for kids and more.
