Friends of the Garden presents Family Fridays in the Garden starting Friday (5/25) at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic in Springfield.  Meet on the Rooftop Garden at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center tonight at 7:30. 

Phantom of the Opera, part of the Broadway Series, is at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts through June 3. 

The 35th annual Mid-America Street Car Nationalsare today through Sunday (5/25-5/27) at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. 

Learn about aquatic invasive species and how to prevent their spread during a program tomorrow morning (5/26) at 10 at Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Center, 483 Hatchery Rd. in Branson.  Registration is required at (417) 334-4865. 

Jennifer Pharr Davis, the fastest person ever to hike the Appalachian Trail, will lead a hike at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center tomorrow morning (5/26) at 9:30.  She’ll talk about her journey on the trail during a program at 11 a.m.  To register, (417) 888-4237.   Learn more here.

Moxie Mornings will be held tomorrow morning (5/26) at 10 at the Moxie Cinema, 305 S. Campbell in downtown Springfield.  Kids two to six-years-old will watch an innovative short film and make art to take home.  Admission is free. 

Arts in the Parkat Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield will feature the Wings of Swing Big Band tomorrow night (5/26) at 7.  Take blankets and lawn chairs.  Admission is free. 

George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond, MO will present the program, “Agricultural Wagon on Wheels,” tomorrow and Sunday (5/26-5/27) at 1.  Learn about the Jesup Wagon, which carried Carver’s bulletins and other useful items to farmers. 

Buffalo Days 2018will be held tomorrow (5/26) starting at 10 a.m. on the square in Greenfield, MO.  There will be food, music, craft, a buffalo chip chucking contest and more. 

Wagons for Warriors will be held tomorrow (5/26) starting at 10 a.m. at the Cowan Civic Center in Lebanon.  Enjoy authentic cowboy-cooked meals prepared over open fires by authentic Chuckwagons and their crews from several states. 

The Doling Neighborhood Association will host a Craft Fair tomorrow (5/26) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Big Yellow House at Talmage and Grant.  There will be live music and concessions. 

The Brain Freeze Event for Brain Tumor Awareness will be held tomorrow (5/26) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sequiota Park, 3500 S. Lone Pine in Springfield.  The event will include ice cream and popsicle-eating contests, frozen treats, activities and prizes.  For more information, (417) 207-6654.

The Essential Coen Brothers Series at the Moxie Cinema, 305 S. Campbell in downtown Springfield, will feature the film, “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” Sunday afternoon (5/27) at 3 and Monday night (5/28) at 7:15. 

The Discovery Center of Springfield, 438 E. St. Louis, will be open Monday (5/28), a day it’s usually closed, to celebrate the kick-off to summer and observe Memorial Day.  Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Members of Phelps Camp No. 66, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the National Park Service will present a military timeline program at the Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield Monday (5/28).  Members of the SUV will wear and display uniforms, equipment, weapons and personal items used by United States soldiers from 1775-2018, and they’ll discuss soldier life during each of America’s major conflicts.  It will be from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. on the lawn of the Visitor Center.  The program is free.  For details, (417) 732-2662.

Mt. Hope Cemetery, 3700 N. Rangeline Rd. in Webb City, will honor veterans with a Memorial Day Ceremony Monday (5/28) at 10 a.m.
