Springfield Little Theatre presents “The Roast at Farmer’s Park,” with Jim Anderson as the “main course,” featuring Roastmaster Beth Domann tonight (11/7) at 6:30 at Farmer’s Park.  Tickets are $50 and include dinner, two drinks and the show.  For details, 869-1334.

The 6th annual Springfield Sleepout to raise awareness of homeless youth in our community starts tonight (11/7) at 7.  Registration begins at 2 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 922 W. Republic Rd.  Registration is $10 per person, and proceeds will benefit Rare Breed Youth Services Program.  Participants are invited to sleep in a cardboard box or tent or just their sleeping bag.  Events include a cardboard box house-building competition, homeless youth simulation and thrift store fashion show. Entertainment includes field games, a homeless youth trivia contest and homeless-themed movies. Indoor activities and warming access will be available.  A Soup Social, even for those not spending the night, will be held from 6 to 8 and costs $5 per person.  For more information, click here.

The MO State Film Series continues tonight (11/7) at  7 in the Plaster Student Union Theatre with the film, “Ticket Out,” written by Hunger Games author, Suzanne Collins.  The thriller is set in the world of the controversial underground railways that aid women and children escaping from abusive, sometimes murderous spouses.  There will be a talk-back session following the film.  Admission is free.  To learn more, missouristate.edu.

The Springfield Veterans Day Parade will start tomorrow morning (11/8) at 10 in downtown Springfield.  It will start at Trafficway and John Q.
