Branson recently became one of dozens of cities to take part in a project to help the Monarch butterfly.  Through the National Wildlife Federation's Mayor's Monarch Pledge, cities and municipalities commit to create habitat and educate citizens about how they can make a difference at home. KSMU's Michele Skalicky talks with Branson Mayor Karen Best about the effort.

Harvest Fest continues this weekend at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park.  A Haunted Trail of Horrors is open tonight and tomorrow night (10/7-10/8) from 6:30 to 10.  The Corn Maze, Pumpkin Patch, cow train, grain train, inflatables, carnival games and more will be open tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday (10/9) from noon to 6 p.m. 

The 2016 HBA Home Remodeling Show is today (10/7) from 1 to 6 p.m., tomorrow (10/8) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday (10/9) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis. 

Jerry Hoover and the Firehouse Band will kick off a new First Friday Concert series presented by the Springfield Art Museum and Play It Forward SWMO.  The concert starts tonight (10/7) at 7 in the museum’s auditorium. 

The Christian County Library Spring Book Sale starts this weekend.  It opens tonight (10/7) with a Friends Preview Sale from 6 to 8.  Memberships are $6 per individual or $10 per family and can be purchased at the sale.  Hours tomorrow (10/8) and Saturday October 15 are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday (10/10-10/13) noon to 8 p.m. and Friday (10/14) noon to 5 p.m. at 1005 N. 4th St. in Ozark.

The Boone County Library in Harrison, Arkansas will present a free concert featuring Still on the Hill tonight (10/7) at 7:30 at the historic Lyric Theatre, 113 W.
