Geezer will present a concert tonight (9/8) at 7 on the patio at the Library Center. Take lawn chairs. 

A Latinx Heritage Month Kick Off will be held tonight (9/8) from 5 to 8 on the Missouri State University North Mall with food, entertainment and resource tables.

Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center in Joplin will celebrate its tenth birthday tonight, and the public is invited.  The event starts at 7 with comments from founding members, cake and a showing of the film, The Big Year, in the center’s park.  Admission is free. 

The American Legion Post 13 will host the Veteran Benefits Expo today (9/8) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Joplin’s Memorial Hall with information about benefits and services and free health screenings.

The 47th annual Antique Auto Fest will be held today through Sunday (9/8-9/10) at the Great Passion Play site in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. 

The 22nd annual Arkansas Hot Air Balloon State Championship and Casa Kids Fest will be held today through Sunday (9/8-9/10) in downtown Harrison, Arkansas. 

An Affair of the Heart, featuring more than 150 vendors selling clothing, jewelry, arts and crafts, furniture and more, will be held today through Sunday (9/8-9/10) at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. 

The Friday Fall Lunchtime Series, a series of concerts Fridays through October 8 on Park Central Square, will kick off today (9/8) at noon with Kaizen.   

The Harvest Home Festival will be held tonight (9/8) from 5 to 11 and tomorrow (9/9) from 11 a.m. to midnight at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 2200 W. Republic Rd.  The event will include a beer garden, live bands, dances, kids’ games and activities, a washers tournament, a live and silent auction and more. 

Seymour’s Apple Festival continues today and tomorrow (9/8-9/9) featuring crafts, a 5k run, live entertainment, an apple peeling contest and more. 

The 15th annual Southwest Missouri Celtic Festival and Highland Games is today and tomorrow (9/8-9/9) at the Buffalo City Park and fairgrounds.  Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow.  There will be games, crafts, live music and more. 

Springfield’s Japanese Fall Festival is today (9/8) from 5 to 10 p.m., tomorrow (9/9) from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday (9/10) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic.  The event will include traditional Japanese entertainment, food, a candlelight walk, children’s activities and games and more.  There’s an admission fee.

Conway Community Days will be held today and tomorrow (9/8-9/9) in downtown Conway, Missouri with rides, games, arts and crafts, a chicken dinner, live music, a parade, games and more. 

St. Thomas the Apostle Orthodox Church, 4200 S. Holiday in Springfield, will host its annual Springfield Greek Festival tonight (9/8) from 5 to 10, tomorrow (9/9) from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday (9/10) from noon to 3.  The event will include Greek dancing, food, music, a silent auction and more. 

The Gathering Place Craft Show is tomorrow (9/9) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Gathering Place in Purdy.  The Fall Craft and Vendor Show will feature more than 50 booths and a concession stand with breakfast and lunch.   

Prairie Day 2017 is tomorrow (9/9) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond, MO.  Celebrate life on the prairie in the 1870’s when George Washington Carver was a child.  There will be musical entertainment, storytelling, nature exhibits, a junior ranger station and living history demonstrations.  Visitors will be able to dip candles, churn butter, tour the prairie in a horse-drawn wagon and more. 

Possum Trot will be held tomorrow (9/9) from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Walnut Grove featuring a 5k and 1 mile run/walk, a parade, tractor, truck and car shows, food, a duck pond and more. 

A Fall Bazaar and Craft Show will be held tomorrow (9/9) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ferrier’s Unlimited, 6325 E. US Highway 60 in Rogersville. 

Country Days will be held tomorrow (9/9) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Bolivar with a car show, vendors and crafters, live entertainment and more. 

Gem City Days is tomorrow in Diamond, MO starting with a parade at 10 a.m.  The event will also feature vendors, a car show, a talent show, a silent auction and more. 

The Wheatland Harvest Festival will be held tomorrow and Sunday (9/9-9/10) featuring live music, a baby contest, a chili cook-off, vendors, food and more. 

Isabel’s House, a crisis nursery at 2750 W. Bennett in Springfield, will host a Community Tour Day tomorrow morning (9/9) from 9 to noon with tours and opportunities to learn how to help families in need. 

The Itsy Bitsy Science Club will be held tomorrow morning (9/9) at 11 at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library for kids three to five-years-old. 

The Festival of Hope Car and Motorcycle Show to benefit the American Cancer Society is tomorrow (9/9) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Battlefield Mall parking lot. 

The Junior League of Springfield will host its fourth annual, Tour of Kitchens, tomorrow (9/9) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Highland Springs.  It’s a self-guided tour of some of Springfield’s finest residential kitchens.  The cost is $30. 

Picnic in the Park 2017 will be held tomorrow night (9/9) from 5:30 to 8:30 at Dickerson Park Zoo in Springfield.  The event will include animal encounters and animal artwork demonstrations as well as raffles, a silent auction, food trucks and more.  Admission is $5, which includes zoo admission.  Children five and under get in free. 

The program, You Can Do It, will be held tomorrow afternoon (9/9) at 2 at the Library Center.  A local teacher will talk about her daughter’s experience competing in the Miss You Can Do It pageant for girls with special needs and challenges.  Learn how you can do it, too, and how you can support families with challenges in the area. 

Alpha Airfest 2017 will be held tomorrow (9/9) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday (9/10) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Joplin Regional Airport with acts such as Kyle Franklin’s Flying Circus and Brian Correll’s Air Show.  For ticket and other information,

The Rotary Club of Harrison will host Jump for Charity! tomorrow (9/8).  Tandem skydiving jumps will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $500.  Proceeds benefit nonprofit organizations in the Harrison, Arkansas area. 

The Out of the Woods Car Meet will be held tomorrow (9/9) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the south side of the square in Harrison, Arkansas. 

The Nixa Senior Center, 404 S. Main in Nixa, will host a Spaghetti Dinner and Auction Sunday morning (9/10) from 11 to 1.  A silent auction will take place during dinner with a live auction starting at 1.  The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children under age ten. 

The Sunday Concert Series continues Sunday afternoon (9/10) at 2 at the Library Center with Techs & the Roadies performing Americana and folk. 

The program, Farewell to Summer Hummers, will be held Sunday (9/10) at 5 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  Hummingbird bander Sarah Driver will share her knowledge of the tiny birds and will try to capture and band some.  To register, 888-4237.
