Studio Live is a monthly show that features conversations about current issues and challenges facing our community. We bring together a panel of experts on each show to answer your questions. From religious diversity to sustainability to child abuse, this program tackles important topics in an intelligent way. Our goal is to encourage thoughtful and meaningful public dialogue.

Tuesday, April 5th at 10am, we'll discuss how poverty and homelessness are impacting kids and youth in Springfield. Our guests will include Becky Morgan, Attendance Coordinator for Springfield Public Schools and Michelle Garand, Director of Community Collaborative Initiatives for Community Partnership of the Ozarks. Join our discussion during the program by calling in or emailing us your questions and comments.

Join us Friday, June 25th at noon as MSU Political Science Professors Dr. Brian Calfano and Dr. Mark Rushefsky take your questions about this November's election. We'll discuss the big races, including the U.S. Senate race, and how the political landscape looks across the state.

Our discussion focuses on the importance of having strong leadership in the non-profit sector and how these leaders and their organizations impact our community. Our guests are Brian Fogle from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks and Dr. Mike Stout, assistant professor of sociology at Missouri State University. KSMU's Missy Shelton co-hosts the program with Dr. Libby Rozell, Director of the MBA program in the MSU College of Business Administration.

This month's program examines ways to get young people involved in science. Our guests will be Dean of the MSU College of Natural and Applied Sciences Dr. Tammy Jahnke, Executive Director of JVIC Ryan Giedd, and Springfield Public Schools Science Coordinator Anne Wallenmeyer. MSU Provost Dr. Belinda McCarthy will co-host the program with KSMU's Missy Shelton.

This month's program examines international influences on the Ozarks from a historical and cultural perspective. We'll discuss settlement patterns and the cultural legacies that remain from these early groups that came to the Ozarks. Our guests will be musician and author Gordan McCann and Missouri State University History Professor Brooks Blevins. MSU Vice President of Research and Economic Development Dr. Jim Baker will co-host the program with KSMU's Missy Shelton.

Migraine headaches and facial/jaw pain: what causes them, what are the local options for people who suffer from them, and what local research is done to learn more about them? Listen in as co-hosts Jennifer Moore and Dr. Michael Nietzel discuss the situation with guests Dr. Paul Durham, professor of biology at MSU, who studies what causes migraines; and Dr. Joseph Kerwin, a Springfield dentist who has limited his practice to TMJD (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder) and Facial Pain.
