These Ozark Hills

KSMU’s monthly series “These Ozarks Hills” features stories about people and places in the Ozarks artslogo2.gifcollected and presented by long-time journalist and Ozarks native Marideth Sisco. Over a 20 year span, she worked as a reporter for the West Plains newspaper “The Quill.” We hope you enjoy this series that originates in West Plains.

In this month's installment of These Ozarks Hills, longtime Ozarks resident Marideth Sisco marvels at the confusing, out-of-season weather, as well as the importance of being "scotch," or frugal.

This is Marideth Sisco for These Ozark Hills - Well, despite the date on the calendar it must be spring because the weather has been all over the place. Everything from tornados to daffodils, and we're just turning the corner from February into March.

In this month's installment of These Ozarks Hills, Ozarks native Marideth Sisco ponders upon the importance of spending these short days nodding off--or staying awake--to enjoy the endless potential of dreaming.

This is Marideth Sisco for These Ozarks Hills. This month, I was all set to launch a light-hearted episode about how this was the year when very nearly every story we hadn't heard the end of - ended. Bin Laden, the end. War in Iraq. Ended. The 12-thousand year old Mayan Calendar - zip. Even Khaddafi - Kaput.
