Missouri State University’s Media, Journalism, and Film department has announced a new Introduction to Journalism class for the fall, but this class will be taught by an outside party. KSMU’s Mike Donnelly reports.

While most dorms are built for the sole purpose of housing students, one Missouri State University dormitory had a long history as a Springfield staple before the university even bought it. For our ongoing local history series, Sense of Place, KSMU’s Emma Wilson explores the history of this historic building turned university dorm.

The Springfield Theatre Alliance met at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts on Tuesday to announce the 2011 / 2012 performance calendar for member theatres. KSMU’s Brandon Goodwin reports.

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department awarded Little Angels Learning Academy with the first of its kind ‘Child Safe Facility’ rating. This new program is the first of its kind in Missouri. It came about as a result of a national study conducted by the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies that found Missouri ranked 46 out of 50 states for child care regulations and oversight.
