The group, Clean Air Springfield, collected nearly 1,200 signatures last June, asking the Springfield city council to ban smoking in all public, indoor facilities. KSMU’s Brandon Goodwin reports.

Scott Eckersley, who ran on the Democratic ticket last November for Missouri’s 7th Congressional seat and lost to Billy Long, says his complaint on campaign fraud is now being formally investigated by the U.S. Justice Department. KSMU’s Jennifer Moore has this report.

On Wednesday, Senate President Pro Tem Robert Mayer named 15 Senate Committee Chairmen who will be in charge of holding public hearings and drafting legislation. Two Senators from the Ozarks have been named chairmen. KSMU’s Mike Donnelly reports.

As a tourism city, Branson depends a lot on visitors. In the past, it has been known for being very quiet during winter time. But now, Branson is trying to let people know it’s somewhere to go for winter fun, too. KSMU’s Xiaowen Tan reports.
