A quick look at tonight's playlist will tell you what you need to know... every song chosen this week by Emily contains the word "Beautiful" in its title!

This week Emily presents several covers of Jessie Winchester songs (including a duet he recorded with Claire Lynch). Also, tracks from local musician Barak Hill; singer-songwriters Lisa Bailes, Jenna Lindbo and Craig Carothers; Eliza Gilkyson; and two cuts from the "Trio II" CD featuring Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt and Dolly Parton.

Emily has packed tonight's show with songs from Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Cat Stevens; Wil Maring; Willis Alan Ramsey; John Lowell & Ben Winship; Emmylou Harris; Leo Kottke; and more.

With Sept.22 being the 1st full day of autumn, Emily features tunes related to the season by Eva Cassidy, Neil Young (title track from "Harvest"), Jay Ungar & Molly Mason, and more.

For Labor Day, Emily features songs about work by Tommy Emmanuel, Chris Smither and Eddie Brown; and about good old-fashioned laziness, from Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard, The Byrds, and a 1930s recording by Hoagy Carmichael. Also: tunes from Buddy Mondlock, k.d.lang, and Chet Atkins with Les Paul.

This week, songs about hobos from Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, and the trio of Emmylou Harris, Linda Ronstadt & Dolly Parton. Also featured: new CDs by former Ozark Mountain Daredevil Randle Chowning, and by "Growling Old Men" (aka Ben Winship and John Lowell).

This week Emily features tracks by her friend, singer-songwriter John Lowell, along with tracks by the band Heartsfield; Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris; Jack Williams; and more.

Everything's gonna be all right... that's Emily's message this week. And if you don't believe that, just look at the song titles!

Emily ranges from blasts from the past with Steve Winwood and his band Traffic, to new releases: one by Shelby Lynne, the other a tribute to John Denver called "The Song Is You." Also: the Traveling Wilburys, Steve Earle, Eva Cassidy, and ukelele virtuoso Jake Shimibukuro.

Despite this being by definition a "singer-songwriter" show, virtuoso cellist Yo-Yo Ma is featured in his collaborations with various friends including James Taylor, Edgar Meyer and Chris Thile. Also: songs by Privates By Choice; Joni Mitchell; the McGarrigle Sisters joined by various famous friends; and more.

In anticipation of the upcoming full moon, Emily put together a show in which EVERY song includes the word "moon" in the title.

Music this week by Vonda Shepard, John Gorka, Richard Shindell, the Wailin' Jennys, John Higgins, Alan Rhody, and more.

Songs about luck by Bonnie Raitt, Kate Wolf, Alison Krauss, Greg Brown and others; and tracks by local and regional artists Barak Hill, Supe Granda, Gloria Attoun, and the late Steve Canaday.

Songs about stars, starlight, the night sky open the show, followed by songs about the sun, songs about July, and finally a couple of patriotic numbers for this July 4th weekend.

Let's see... how many songs can Emily find for this week's show with some form of the word "summer" in the title? How about an even dozen, from James Taylor, Townes Van Zandt, Richard Shindell, the Wailin' Jennys, John Hartford, and others?
