Wednesday Excursions - 8 April 2009

Three albums tonight, a nice variety of sounds without getting too crazy. We heard a bit of the compilation 'Best of Arturo Sandoval', the album '33 1/3' by The Frank & Joe Show, and a self titled album by the Doky Brothers.

'Best of Arturo Sandoval' - 1997, Milan Latino

We heard the first 6 tracks of this, ending with a 15 minute rendition of Dizzy's 'A Night In Tunisia'.

10:35 - 11:20

The Frank & Joe Show, '33 1/3' - 2004, Hyena Records

Played all but the last track of this one, ending with a fun guitar bit of 'Flight of the Bumblebee.'

11:20 - midnight

'Doky Brothers' - 1995, Blue Note

We heard all but the last track of this album. The mentioned Doky Brothers (Niels on piano, Chris on bass) are joined by a host of musicians here and a few vocalists.
