Career Fair

CoxHealth has more than 200 positions open, and it will showcase them and meet prospective employees during a career fair next week.

The event, from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday (10/24) in Cox South’s West Tower Lobby, will give candidates a chance to meet leaders and learn about job openings.   

Free food and prizes will be available, and hiring leaders will attend to meet with applicants.

Despite a half-percentage point jump in Springfield unemployment from December to January, the rate has been less than four percent since last fall, and officials are encouraged moving forward.

The Missouri Career Center- Ozark Region held a career fair in January, is conducting events this week and has another one planned next month. Communications Coordinator Megan Short says that when businesses get involved, it’s a good indication that the city’s unemployment rate could drop.

Springfield Public Schools needs employees in the areas of custodial, nutrition services, transportation and building services.  It’s holding a career fair today from 10 to 2 for anyone interested in applying.  The event will be held in the Central High School Commons Area at 423 E. Central.  SPS representatives will be at the fair to talk to job applicants, answer questions and help with the online application process.  Interested applicants can apply online here.  There’s a full list of job openings at that site.
