The city of Ozark has hired its next police chief. Tim Clothier is a major with the Owensboro, Kentucky Police Department. He’ll begin his duties Sept. 28.

Clothier’s appointment comes after the recent resignation of longtime chief Lyle Hodges, who retired in late June. Hodges had been reprimanded following a review into the department to address alleged wrongdoings.

The city of Ozark has began soliciting applications for its next chief of police. This week’s job posting comes after the recent resignation of Lyle Hodges, who was reprimanded in May after a report alleging misconduct within the department.

City Administrator Steve Childers tells KSMU that the biggest thing Ozark is looking for in a new chief is leadership, and for someone who will be “very engaged.”

Saying a prescription on medicines containing pseudoephedrine would play a significant burden on law-abiding Springfield citizens, Councilman Doug Burlison Thursday introduced a new amendment to the bill that would put the measure to a vote of the people. KSMU’s Scott Harvey reports.
