Fall Book Sale

Friends of the Library

Total sales for the Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale last week were $143,264.64.  The Friends Night Preview Sale made a near-record $28,263.50.  The money will be used to help pay for library programs, concerts, equipment purchases and building improvements in the Springfield-Greene County Library District.

Around 450 volunteers worked to make the sale happen.

The public can donate books and audiovisual items for future Friends of the Library sales at any library branch.

It’s almost time for the Friends of the Library Book Sale in Springfield.  The Friends Preview Night is October 17 from 5 to 8 p.m., and the sale opens to the general public October 18. Springfield-Greene County Libraries spokesperson Kathleen O’Dell said seven and a half tractor trailer loads of items will be for sale, which makes the event one of the biggest ever.
