Messiah Project

KSMU listeners first met Ryan Bogart last summer on “Arts News.” He and his wife Veronica (Ronnie) became the new directors of Messiah Project’s Credo Dance Academy at that time.  Today both Ryan and Ronnie were in-studio along with Messiah Project director Lindsey Robison to talk about a Christian-themed dance concert this weekend.

Messiah Project presents its 9th annual "Heritage of Hymns" concert featuring a community choir, community orchestra and the Springfield Boy Choir Saturday Oct. 15 at 7:00pm in the Evangel University Chapel Auditorium.  Sharon WIlkins is the choral director for the concert, with Larry Dissmore conducting the Messiah Project Orchestra.  Singers from various area churches and denominations join together in this concert to sing some of the greatest church music ever composed.

Messiah Project, the local Christian organization whose mission is to “present our Judeo-Christian heritage through the visual and performing arts,” will tour Austria and visit Krakow, Poland during a two-week performing and sightseeing trip later this month.  Some twenty members of the group’s Credo Chamber Choir, directed by Heather Nelson, will make the trip, along with frequent Messiah Project collaborator, Arkansas-based concert organist Jonathan Story, and soprano Kara Story.  They’ll give Springfield a preview of their concert-tour repertoire at a concert Sunday June 5th at 7:00pm a

Messiah Project, Inc. will present "Messiah: From Prophecy to Acclamation," featuring portions of Handel's Messiah at All Saints Anglican Church, 2751 E. Galloway Street, on Sunday March 20th at 7:00pm to mark the beginning of Holy Week.  It's free and open to the public.

Messiah Project will present Scripture elaborated in song at the 8th annual "Heritage of Hymns" concert Saturday Oct. 17 at 7:00pm (with an organ prelude at 6:15) in the Robert H. Spence Chapel Auditorium at Evangel University. The Messiah Project Community Choir directed by Sharon Wilkins will be joined by pianist Dino Kartsonakis and the Springfield Symphony Orchestra led by their Music Director Kyle Wiley Pickett.
