Today (5/11) is National Public Gardens Day, and Friends of the Garden invite you to celebrate with them by visiting the Roston Native Butterfly House on its opening day today from noon to 6.  The butterfly house is located at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park.  Melinda Mullins will present a free concert tonight at 6:30 at the Peace Through People Pavilion (take your own blankets and lawn chairs).  And the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden will be open tonight and tomorrow night from 7:30 to 9:30.  There is a fee for that event.  Click

A plant sale, hosted by the Darr College of Agriculture at Missouri State University, continues Friday (5/4) until 5 p.m. in the Karls Hall Greenhouse on the main campus. 

First Friday Art Walk is Friday night (5/4) from 6 to 10 at various venues in downtown Springfield.

An Arbor Day celebration and screening of the film, The Lorax, will start tonight (4/27) at 7 at the Peace Through People Pavilions at the Springfield Botanical Gardens, 2400 S. Scenic.  Take lawn chairs and blankets.

The Run for Hope 5K Glow Fun Run will start tonight (4/20) at 7 in Harrison, Arkansas to benefit Hope Cottages.  The project provides transitional housing for homeless mothers and their children in Harrison. 

The Missouri State University African Student Association will host the third annual Gala today (4/20) at 5:30 in the Plaster Student Union Ballroom and Theatre.
