City Utilities of Springfield’s top executive has announced he is retiring in June of 2011. KSMU’s Jennifer Moore has details.

The Republic Community Band plays a Christmas concert on Saturday, December 11 at 2:00 pm at Hood Methodist Church, 139 North Walnut in Republic. The band is comprised of musicians from many towns in southwest Missouri. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Missouri State University Community Band will present its "Sounds of the Season" concert at Glendale Christian Church, 2110 S. Blackman Road in Springfield Sunday Dec.12 from 3:00 to 5:00pm. The band consists of students as well as members of the community; the concert is free and open to the public.

Greene County invites residents, neighbors and the general public to enjoy performances of holiday music by area high school choirs AND the Courthouse Chorale this month in the rotunda of the Greene County Historic Courthouse, 940 Boonville. The rotunda’s domed roof, marble walls, terrazzo floors and second and third floor galleries create an ideal space for choral music. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has some land near Stockton Lake and in the greater Kansas City areas of Smithville and Longview. The Army wanted to know what kind of cultural resources were located in these areas. KSMU’s Ryan Welch reports on the Stockton Lake findings.

After missing the entire 2009 season while out promoting his book “It Shined; the Saga of the Ozark Mt. Daredevils (and after playing at Harlow's here in Springfield Friday night Dec.10), Michael "Supe" Granda returns to the Rock House in Reeds Spring, MO with a special holiday performance of “Supe’s On”. The evening, consisting of songs, stories, friends, mayhem and a healthy dose of merriment, is his current project when he isn’t holding down his bass duties with the Daredevils.
