The American Red Cross of Southern Missouri will hold its Veterans Care Drive to collect personal comfort and care items for area veterans.
The Red Cross will collect personal hygiene items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, comfort items like socks and underwear as well as recreation items including word puzzles and restaurant gift cards. These items will be distributed at State Veterans’ homes, VA clinics and other veterans’ facilities.
“This drive is important because we want to help veterans have the personal care items that are otherwise unavailable or unaffordable to them,” says Jason Ramlow, the organization’s regional director of Service to the Armed Forces. “Even the smallest of items can make a big difference in letting a military veteran know how much their service continues to be appreciated.”
Items for the Veterans Care Drive may be dropped off at the following locations: American Red Cross Springfield office, 1545 N. West Bypass; United Way of the Ozarks, 320 N. Jefferson Avenue and The Medicine Shoppe 1474 N. Boonville. The drive continues through Dec. 15.
