Event Description

The Ozarks Model Railroad Association will host an open house. Guests may have an opportunity to run a train.

The large 16’ x 80’ operating model railroad that represents the St. Louis and San Francisco’s Central Division from Monett, MO to Paris, TX. Including interchanges with the Arkansas & Ozarks RR in Seligman, MO and the Missouri Pacific RR in Van Buren, AR.

The A & O was the successor railroad of the Missouri & North Arkansas RR. It includes trackage from Seligman to Harrison, AR passing through Berryville, AR with a branch line to Eureka Springs, AR.

Members will be present to conduct tours of the club house and explain all aspects of the model railroad including design, construction, operating system, and how it is operated.

Operating sessions are held twice a month on Tuesday evenings. Train movement is controlled by a dispatcher and operators utilize computer generated manifests or switch lists to move their trains over the railroad.

The club was established in 1982 as a not-for-profit corporation. In March, 2018 it will host its 40th Annual Model Train Show.
