A National Weather Service assessment has found that several tornadoes sprung up throughout the Ozarks over the weekend.
The storms brought wind speeds of up to 90 mph to portions of Newton, Lawrence and Polk counties, according to the storm surveys.
The line of strong to severe thunderstorms moved across southeastern Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks during the early morning hours of Sunday. There were multiple reports of wind damage, mainly from straight line winds. The tornadoes that emerged resulted in short tracks of tornadic damage, as they were quick to form and quick to dissipate.
Confirmed EF-1 tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service, formed from Seneca to Neosho, and near Freistatt, with wind speeds of 90 mph. EF-0 twisters, at 80 mph, were confirmed east of Dunnegan, east of Humansville, and west of Polk.
