Parent education will be available to all Greene County residents over the next three years because of a grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health.
The grant of just over $703,000 will pay for education provided by numerous collaborative agencies as they implement a best practice program called Triple P--Positive Parenting Programs, according to Community Partnership of the Ozarks.
CPO says the project will provide the framework for aligning existing agencies around a common mission and shared data. It will also focus on reinforcing activities designed to reduce the incidents of child abuse and neglect. And it's hoped to reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system while enhancing stability for kids already in the system.
According to the CPO, the project is expected to "help strengthen families and bring a community-wide culture shift in parenting norms that can impact the community for generations to come."
