Hy-Vee Recalls Pasta Salad Tied to Salmonella Cases

Hy-Vee

Grocery store chain Hy-Vee Inc. has recalled its store-brand spring pasta salad after 20 people got salmonella in several Midwest and northern states.

According to the US Food and Drug Administration, the pasta salad was distributed to all of Hy-Vee’s 244 grocery stores across its eight-state region, which includes Missouri.

The recall includes Hy-Vee’s spring pasta salad in both the one-pound and three-pound containers available from the deli service case between June 1 and July 13 of this year.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems.

Consumers who purchased this product should dispose of it; they also have the option of returning it to their local Hy-Vee store for a full refund.

According to the FDA, anyone with questions may contact Hy-Vee Customer Care at 1-800-772-4098.
