The recently expanded Jordan Valley Community Health Center in Springfield features an Express Care Clinic for both medical and dental care, as well as more exam rooms and waiting areas, and in turn has allowed for the hire of additional health care providers and staff.
Dr. Chan Reyes, the medical director at Jordan Valley, says she is proud to see the growth.
“Everything pretty much [that] we put in here is state of the art so that’s really good,” Reyes says. “A lot of our patients are very surprised when they see that, but I tell them, ‘Well you deserve it.’”
The clinic is expected to serve 13,500 new patients with its increased capacity. This most recent expansion was in part financed by a $5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The next step in expansion is to finish an area for a multidisciplinary approach to pain management care, which will also include more space for physical therapy.
Jordan Valley is a Federally Qualified Health Center, which means it is qualified for enhanced reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid. However, the clinic will take many types of insurance and work with uninsured to see what kind of services can be provided.
