Missouri State University Announces Record-Breaking Grants

Missouri State University

Missouri State is better equipped to expand educational programs and research due to $25 million in grants received for Fiscal year 2016.

The amount is $2.3 million more than the previous record set in FY 2008

Dr. Erin Parrish, director of research administration, noted in a press release that the increase in international funding and educational programs is encouraging.

“Both of these point to the greater impact Missouri State is making globally,” Parrish notes.

International awards make up 11 percent of the University’s total grant funding.

Missouri State also received its biggest amount of federal funds at $15.45 million, which accounts for 62 percent of the school’s grant funding.

About 49 percent of MSU’s entire grant funding goes toward educational programs, and 16 percent goes to research projects.

The projects target specific issues such as families in poverty, food security, and improving achievements for students with disabilities.

Missouri State’s research publication, Mind’s Eye, explains and signifies many of its projects.
