More High-Profile Speakers Address Missouri Delegates

This is the final day of the Democratic National Convention. KSMU's Missy SHelton is in Boston covering the Missouri Delegates. This morning, they got to hear from several high-profile speakers.

MISSOURI'S GOVERNOR BOB HOLDEN INTRODUCED ELIZABETH EDWARDS, THE WIFE OF VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE JOHN EDWARDS.

SHE SPOKE TO THE MISSOURI DELEGATES AT THEIR MORNING MEETING'SHE TOLD THEM SHE AND HER HUSBAND PLAN TO VISIT THE SHOW-ME STATE THIS FALL.

AFTER ELIZABETH EDWARDS SPOKE, THE BROTHER OF PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE JOHN EDWARDS ADDRESSED MISSOURI DELEGATES.

CAM KERRY TOLD THE CROWD THAT HE VISITED MISSOURI EARLIER THIS YEAR.

KERRY ENCOURAGED MISSOURIANS TO GET READY FOR AN INFLUX OF VOLUNTEERS WHO WILL THEM CAMPAIGN FOR JOHN KERRY.

FOLLOWING CAM KERRY'S REMARKS, THE MISSOURI DELEGATES WELCOMED FORMER TEXAS GOVERNOR ANN RICHARDS.

SHE TALKED ABOUT POLLS THAT SHOW PRESIDENT BUSH AND JOHN KERRY ARE IN A STATISTICAL DEAD HEAT IN KEY BATTLEGROUND STATES LIKE MISSOURI.

ALL THIS WEEK, THE MORNING MEETINGS FOR MISSOURI'S DELEGATES HAVE ATTRACTED WELL-KNOWN POLITICIANS LIKE GENERAL WESLEY CLARK AND EVEN ACTOR BEN AFFLECK. DELEGATES SAY HAVING THESE HIGH-PROFILE SPEAKERS IS AN INDICATION OF HOW IMPORTANT MISSOURI IS IN THE NOVEMBER ELECTION.
