Springfield Council to Choose Among 5 Applicants for Zone 1

Springfield City Council will have five citizens to choose from to fill the Zone 1 seat recently vacated by Jeff Seifried.

March 27 was the final day applications could be turned in.

On Monday, the city released the names of those who had submitted materials. They are: Brett Esch, quality analyst at J.P. Morgan Chase; Phyllis Ferguson, Mexican Villa Chief Operating Officer / Treasurer, Brittany Hopp, York & Hopp CPAs; Joseph Hoffman, former U.S. Army Officer, logistics, finance and operations commander and Eric Wood, retired U.S. Army senior maintenance supervisor.

City Council will review applications the week of April 13 and select finalists to be do in-person interviews the week of April 20. The candidate selected will be sworn in immediately.

Zone 1 is located in the northwest quadrant of the city of Springfield.
