A Storytelling Festival will be held tonight (8/25) from 6 to 8 and tomorrow (8/26) from 11 to 3 at the George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond, MO. 

Entrance fees will be waived today (8/25) at Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield and other national parks to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the National Park Service’s founding. 

The newly-organized Southwest Missouri National Organization for Women (NOW) will hold its first general meeting tonight (8/25) at 6 at the Library Center.  Speakers will be Springfield NAACP president, Cheryl Clay, and MSU professor and author, Dr. Holly Baggett. 

The Movies at Founders Park Series concludes this weekend at Founders Park in downtown Springfield.    E.T. will be shown tonight (8/25) and Rogue One and the SATO48 film, Ghost Crusaders tomorrow night (8/26). 

The Weller Neighborhood Night Out is tonight (8/25) from 6 to 8 at Smith Park, 1536 E. Division in Springfield.

The Midtown Neighborhood Night Out is tonight (8/25) from 6 to 8 at Washington Park, 1600 N. Summit.

An art show, featuring oil pastel drawings by Field Elementary second graders, will be held tonight (8/25) from 5 to 8 and tomorrow (8/26) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Drury on C-Street, 233 E. Commercial in Springfield.  The art and notecards will be for sale as well as “golden spikes” to raise money to replace the wood decking on the Jefferson Avenue Footbridge. 

The program, Cool Cave Creatures, for ages three to six, will be held today (8/25) at 11:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. and tomorrow morning (8/26) at 11 at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  To register, 888-4237.

The Queen City Shout Music Festival continues through Sunday (8/27) at five venues on C-Street.  Proceeds will go to the effort to end homelessness in Springfield. 

The annual Fiddle Festival is today through Sunday (8/25-8/27) at Grand Country Music Hall in Branson. 

The 33rd annual Frisco Festival is today and tomorrow (8/25-8/26) in Rogers, Arkansas with arts and crafts, a kid zone, street performers, a car show, live music, a BBQ contest and more. 

The Habitat Home Run 2017 will be held tomorrow (8/26) starting at 7 a.m. at Lafayette Park, 202 E. Atlantic, in Springfield.  Springfield’s Largest Water Balloon Fight starts at 8.  There will be a 10k, 5k and a one mile fun run. 

The Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside Drive, in Springfield will host a Free Family Day tomorrow morning (8/26) from 10 to noon with hands-on activities for kids two and older. 

The fourth annual Repurposed Fairewill be held in Monett tomorrow (8/26) from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday (8/27) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The event highlights repurposed, vintage and upcycled items, including original art, clothes, furniture and more. There will be live music, a car show and an appearance by the FYI Guy, Jeremy Rabe. 

The Eureka Springs VW Show is being held at Best Western Inn of the Ozarks in Eureka Springs, Arkansas through Sunday (8/27). 

Most Springfield-Greene County Park Board pools are closed for the season, but Fassnight and Grant Beach pools remain open Saturdays and Sundays from 1-6:30 p.m. through Labor Day weekend.

The Rogers Historical Museum, 120 W. Poplar in Rogers, Arkansas, will host the Sugar Creek Model Railroad and Historical Societies model railroad show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow (8/26). 

A Kid’s Fair will be held tomorrow (8/26) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dickerson Park Zoo.  The event will feature products and services from a variety of family-oriented businesses in the area. 

The Mr. Rogers’ Warrior 5k Run/Walk will be held tomorrow (8/26) at 8 a.m. beginning at Lake Harrison in Harrison, Arkansas.   The event will help raise money for the Mr. Rogers’ scholarship, which will be presented to at least one senior from Western Grove School who meets the criteria for the $1,000.00 award.

A NASA Public Observing Night will be held tomorrow night (8/26) from 8:30 to 11 at Baker Observatory near Marshfield. 

The Diva Dash 5K to benefit the Child Advocacy Center will start at 8 tomorrow morning (8/26), and a Lil Princess Run, for girls eight and under, will start around 9 in downtown Springfield. 

Singer, songwriter and actress Olivia Newton-John will take the stage at the Gillioz Theater in Springfield tomorrow night (8/26) at 7:30.  For ticket information, gillioz.org

The Ozarks 3rd Mini Maker Faire will be held tomorrow (8/26) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the White River Conference Center, 600 W. Sunshine, in Springfield.  The event, by the Ozarks SysSTEAMic Coalition, is a venue for “makers” to share hobbies, experiments and projects. 

The traveling exhibit, America’s Road:  The Journey of Route 66, is at the Discovery Center of Springfieldthrough September 30. 

The Robberson Neighborhood Night Out will be held tomorrow (8/26) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Robberson Community School, 1100 E. Kearney.

The Doling Neighborhood Night Out will be held tomorrow (8/26) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Doling Park, 301 E. Talmage, in Springfield.

The On Stage Series continues Sunday at 5 p.m. at The Moxie, 305 S. Campbell in downtown Springfield.  The featured film will be Peter Pan, filmed live at the National Theatre on June 10.
