Studio Live

Second Friday of every month, 12-1pm

Hear songs from local musicians as they perform live from the KSMU studios. This hour-long event, held at noon one Friday out of each month, mixes conversation with performance. We'll learn more about these musicians and their love for music, as well as the music itself.

KSMU has also partnered with Barley Wheat & Rye Social House, for the Studio Live Social Hour, an encore performance of that day's artist at the craft cocktail lounge in southeast Springfield. The performance begins at 6 p.m.

Upcoming Schedule:

October 13: Fall Drive Kick-Off Party - A special edition of Studio Live, featuring live performances from the KSMU All Stars, including Dallas Jones, Kristi Merideth, Molly Healey and more! Tune in at noon for the broadcast celebrating public radio in the Ozarks, then join us at Barley Wheat & Rye that evening for a Social Hour party. Click the link above for more details.

Local songwriter and Master Naturalist Bob Ranney was in the studio today to share songs he's written about nature in the Ozarks.

For years, Studio Live has brought you monthly presentations of local music and discussion in an intimate, live setting from inside the KSMU studios.

Now, with each new show we invite you to an encore performance with that day's artists later on at Barley, Wheat & Rye Social House.

That's Studio Live, select Fridays at noon on KSMU, followed by an encore performance at Barley, Wheat and Rye at 5 p.m.

Mallory Leicht / Wild Bob's Musical Book Club

Wild Bob's Musical Book Club is a group of local songwriters tasked with the challenge of writing an original song inspired by the monthly book selection and performing it live. Members Steve Ames, Kevin Cott, Brett Miller and Ryan Spilken were in the studio to perform songs they have written for Wild Bob's, along with co-founder Mallory Leicht.

You can catch Wild Bob's Musical Book Club performances monthly at Lindberg's Bar on Commercial Street.
