68.7 percent of registered voters in Greene County turned out for Tuesday’s general election. The number is not yet final, as three precincts had yet to be counted as of Wednesday afternoon.
The number represents an increase from the 2012 presidential election but below the turnout for the general election in 2008.
In all, 130,404 county citizens cast a ballot out of the 189, 827 registered to do so. Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller had predicted a voter turnout of about 65 percent.
