Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce

Alberto Musalem was a guest at an event hosted by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

The revenues generated by an increase would be used to help pay for a new convention and event center in Springfield.

The address was part of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce event, The State of the State.

Springfield government, the local chamber of commerce and city tourism officials all hope to create a $175 million event center somewhere downtown. They say the opportunity cost in not doing so amounts to more than $125,000 per day.

The company's $13.5 million, 120,000-square-foot facility will be located next to an existing JD Reman facility.

The annual event is hosted by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber's board of directors made the decisions on Monday.

The Community Leadership visit in September included 80 delegates from the Springfield area.
